Textile and fiber art represent the array of works included in the exhibit. Isabel Barbuzza, professor of sculpture at the the University of Iowa School of Art and Art History served as the juror, selecting 51 works by 17 Iowa-based artists. She notes, “The artists have chosen to create works where scale, color, materials, patterns and techniques are beautiful, unique, and challenging. Materials and techniques range from wool, plastic, ceramics with intertwined fibers, hand-painted cotton, wood construction, natural dyes, weavings, or sewn pieces. This exhibit's breadth and diversity of works make this show unique, dynamic, and visually strong.”
