“Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition”

Presented jointly by the UNI Gallery of Art and the UNI Department of Art. An awards ceremony will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, March 21 in the KAB Auditorium, room 111. The exhibition postcard and poster were designed by UNI graphic design student Emily Dingman.
This competitive exhibition showcases outstanding recent artworks by students enrolled in classes in the UNI Department of Art. The juror for this year's competition is Barbara Fedeler, Professor of Art at Wartburg College, Waverly, IA. Fedeler will make a selection from the student entries and will also choose a number of merit awards and honorable mentions. In addition, she will give a lecture about her career as well as her perspective on art jurying at 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 9 in KAB 111.
Fedeler received her M.F.A. from the University of Arizona (1985) and her B.F.A. from Drake University in Des Moines (1982). She also studied at Scuola Lorenzo de Medici in Florence, Italy. Before her position at Wartburg College, she served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Northern Iowa. She has also taught at North Iowa Community College in Mason City and Loras College in Dubuque. Her work has been displayed in over 65 exhibitions throughout the Midwest and in Arizona, Utah, and California, and her work is in art collections across the country.
All events are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday; and by appointment. The gallery is located on the main floor of KAB South.
